Byron, Iv had a John Deere i bought new in 95. Its around 18 HP with a 48" deck. Iv mowed almost 2 Acres every weekend since I bought it. Its been to the shop " 1 " time in 7 years, $127.00. My brother in-law bought one from Wally-World for a third the price. Hes been through " 3" mowers in 7 years, lots of headaches, a sore back, and a very poorly cut lawn. Dont buy junk, it will catch you in the long run, I promise. Not to mention the comfort of a good mower for your back. A cheap mower from a discount store will have "ZERO" comfort. I like my Deere but if you dont buy one do your self a favor and get an equevalent brand.
