Yes, it is true, that there is no relationship between the B.F Avery Company who was eventually was bought out by Minnieapolis Moline, and the Avery Power Machinery Company of Peoria Ill. The Avery Power Machinery Company had built steam traction engines, and was one of the industry leaders in building gas traction engines (now called tractors). This company went out of business after WW2. So, if you have a plow made by one of these companies, you do need to distinguish which company it was made by first
