help trailer electric brake wiring

I just purchased a used pick-up that had an electric brake controler all ready installed the light wiring is ok, so minus light and ground wires there are 2 wires at the back of the truck 1 is black and has power to it when the key is on the second wire is red and has power to it when the brakes are engaged on the trailer there are 2 brake wires comming out of the lighting harness both are black where do I go from here thanks Randy
