Mahindra 485 DI

I'm looking at a Mahindra 485 DI for sale, with a KD front end loader 7K. The transmission will not go into 4th gear hi or lo, no grinding even with the clutch out, I just hit a hard spot. Is this a shifter or transmission problem?
