In extreme NW Calif, grass hay in the field went for $1.50 per bale in the peak of the season and topped out at $3.00 per bale (FOB producer's barn) this spring. (basis is avg. 50 lb bales).

For horse people, keep the bales small, 50 lbs or less. Most horse folk are women and they don't like to handle heavy bales.

Tie with Sisal. They like that too. Organic.

I like it too, for different reasons. Poly twine accumulates and multiplies everywhere and won't go away for years.
