Ser.# plate should be riveted to to right side of smoke box about half way up. Rivets are about 4" apart. If the plate is gone ,the rivets or the holes for them will still be there. If the plate is missing there should be a boiler no. stamped into the rear outer sheet straight above the top handhole above the upper canon bearing. There is a formulae for figuring out what your engine no. should be using the boiler no. If you can tell me how many tubes are in the boiler, I can tell you what you got.
