I have 2 Mott/Alamo flail mowers. Approx 6 ft and 7 ft. I use then to cut 2 parcels about 6 acres ea. I get a very good cut with them. You can adjust them down to about 1 1/2 inches. The only part that I have had trouble with is the splined coupling in the shaft from the gear box to the belt pulley. The bearings on the roller at the rear are relatively expensive as well, but are probably available locally. I order my parts on the internet. Blades are about .60 ea. On the Mott/Alamo mowers, the modle number will tell you how many blades are on it. Whatever the modle # is is the no. of blades. Oh yes, the more regularly you cut the grass, the better it looks. The mower will cut tall grass(unlike a finishing mower), but does a much neater job on shorter stuff. If I can help you, shoot me an email. Whiskers
