1959 JOHN DEERE A

I STRUCK A ROCK WITH MY ROTARY MOWER. THE TRACTOR STOPPED AND WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD AND THE PTO WILL NOT WORK. IF I TRY TO ENGAGE THE CLUTCH I HEAR A CLUNKING SOUND. I TOOK OFF THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY AND EVERYTHING LOOKS OK. THE GEAR THAT THE CLUTCH ENGAGES TO APPEARS TO HAVE A LOT OF SIDE PLAY IF YOU REACH IN THE HOUSING AND WIGGLE IT. I HAVE YET TO GET THE SIDE HOUSING OFF BECAUSE IT WON'T CLEAR THE BRAKE ON THAT SIDE. ANY IDEAS ON WHAT BROKE? HELP!!!!!!
