Just to confuse you more- FWA is sometimes used- it stands for FrontWheel Assist. However, for full-time dependable use, we buy tractors with MFWD. Hydraulic drive, especially the early ones, simply didn't stand up well; and I don't think the FWA was meant to be used full-time. With MFWD we run it steady on tillage work, better traction and fuel economy. For light work, we turn the switch off.
