You do not say what you plan on doing with the machine. As others have stated, 3point and live PTO are very nice things to have. Starting the tractor cold is a must. Drive it for a while to get it warm then attempt to start it while it is hot. If possible, hook up an implement to check the lift. I kinda disagree with others on the boards, looks do play a part to me. If the tractor has been well kept or shedded I beleive that makes a big difference in the way it appears. However, I would not put alot of weight on this,it is just a consideration. Also, new paint may be hiding alot of flaws, be weary of that. I would pass on a machine that I plan on using as a working tractor if it had new paint; won't help it run any better and just increases the price.
