right the first ones were just a 350 blockconverted to diesel they made some with straight trans and they were a disaster knocking out lower end. next ones had head gasket problems later ones were fairly good. I,m a gm guy but when went to gm school in omaha and instructer told us truth i didn,t want a diesel. one source of good trucks could be utiliyty comp. I worked for one and they sold them rather than trade maintance was good and mileage wasnt high my 02 cents
