If you are not going to do a lot of long distance driving you might want to consider a 1-1/2 or 2 ton truck with dump. 1 ton trucks will normally bring a premium compared to their larger brothers. Many old grain trucks with 12 to 16 foot dumps are available for as little as 1/2 the price of a decent 1 ton. If you want to haul gravel the larger truck will offer alot more capacity.
