The benefits of positive ground are it's oem correct for your tractor. The benefits of switching over to 12 volt negative ground are you can hook up modern electrical do-dads and jump start conveniently.

Positive and negative grounds were mixed by all manufacturers for decades prior to the negative ground becoming standard. 12 Volts became a standard well before negative ground became a standard.
