Versatile 950 with V-8 cummins. Going up and down our mini poluose hills, the rpm's would never drop by more than 50 and the tires weren't spinning too. It had tremendous torque, just like the old John Deere 830's. It was everything Versatile claimed it to be. Only knock against it was the engine blew up at 3200 hours. Our worst tractor ever was the next one we had, a Ford/Versatile 976. Had all kinds of problems with it. Ford cheapened up what was a good tractor line at the time. We have never been back. We also had a JD 4640 that never gave us any problems. Our neighbors were ooohing and ahhhing over the sound-gard cab after we got it. However, it was the first tractor we ever had to finance to buy.
