I once had an altenator that had an internal short and it was draining my battery. Have your altenator checked out. It is possible for the alternator to making 14.5 volts but not enough current to charge the battery. Ten AA flashlight batteries make 15 volts but it sure aint gonna charge a tractor battery. Let us know what it turns out to be.
