I think you are right, and I hope you are. Some of these "farmers" amaze me. They have big ideas and big loans. A fella down the road from me took out crop insurance for the first time a few years ago, and that year row crops were terrible. I would hate to see what shape he would be in had it not been for that insurance. I wish all young farmers the best of luck. One of my brothers works for a big farmer who mostly does vegetable farming. The money they invested in machinery is coming back to haunt them now, as they have tractors that are starting to have major breakdowns and aren't halfway paid for yet. My brother says at his work he hasn't operated an open cab tractor in two years, he does other stuff besides just run tractors, but one of his bosses who used to run machinery, but now does run around and office work, decided he only wanted to work in heat and air conditioning w/a radio. While that is nice, they really couldn't afford getting a bunch of new tractors like they did, and now they are starting to feel the effects. Thanks for the insight, it is true, if you don't learn from history it is doomed to repeat itself.
