Any way Grandpa when he retired in 1965 from farming bought about 10-15 acres and put up his house and shop on it and ended up with a very large yard. he rented out part of it for corn and beans, but still had 5 or so acres to mow. He bought a new Cub Lo-Boy and I cut his grass for years with that(when I could talk him off the tractor!) He ran it for years and years, but dad and my uncle talked him into bidding on a kubota B6100HST that a cousin owned and his widow was moving off the farm so the developers could have thier way with the place.Ol Warren was kind of rough on equipment, but the little Kubota took what he dished out. I cut Grandpas yard with the Kubota for years and it was always real good until grandpa got the radiator clogged up with chaff and overheated the tar out of it. Kubotas have a "Steam Whistle"on the overflow and he was hard of hearing so he kept going till it quit.He had it rebuilt and used it many more years, till he passed and now I have it and it is still going good! I liked sitting on the Loboy much better, but I have to admit, the Kubota sure cut the mowing time and was a lot easier to get under the windbreak pines than the Lo Boy! Uses a lot less fuel also. I will say I am glad I inherited it, because I doubt I would have forked out the big bucks to by one.
