check to see if you can take the track loose and let one end of the track down. most of the box type tracks are overlapped where they meet (similar to tongue & groove), or have an integral dripcap that goes under the wall sheathing above, but check yours out. you might be able to "bring the mountain to muhammed". if so, you can get at the end of that piece of track. bad news is that you'll still have to go through all the work in my previous post, unless somebody has a better idea.
