If everyone with two acres wanted an antique tractor the man on a limited budget would be out of luck. There are not enough of the old tractors to meet the need. Ask yourself why do we have gray market tractors that been worn out overseas then imported, same answer. The newer machines are more oriented to the casual user. We see so many post about the lack of common sense in the urbanites moving to the country, we should remember the old tractors were built for comercial farming use and not Saturday toys. The saftey features on the newer machines are designed to protect people from themselves and the companies from lawsuits. If a neighbor's child accidently started an old tractor with no ignition key or starter interlock and drove it into the side of your house you might wish he had a modern compact.
