Hey way to go there Steve! Good topic. All the comments I read seemed to be from guys that know what the happs are. I run a wood/fiberboard shop for one of YOUR Defense Depots, and hearing protection is standard issue, don't mean that eveyone wears it all the time though. I have signs posted at every entrance/exit requiring protective gear. I'll be honest w/ya, I have to remind some of my guys to put their SAFETY GLASSES ON!!!! Now Im talking about men that have been in that shop for 30+ yrs. I'm 42yrs old, youngest in the shop, and the boss, and you would figure they are all growed up and know what is right? Please! Yea I may let them slide on the ear plugs (all wear while operating saws) but there is NO EXCEPTION for the eyes! To include visitors. Reguardless of the rank! No telling when a nail, staple, or chunk of wood will come flying. Oh yea I have 2 hear/imp (deaf) employees that taught me enough sign thru the years to communicate pretty good w/them. NEAT STUFF! Now would you think that those gentelman wood be a DAILY reminder for hear/protec? It worked for me!!!!!! Thumbs Up Steve! I'll talk attcha later, if you can hear me....... WHAT???????? steve j
