Just a reminder that ordinary exhaust can damage hearing as well as straight pipes. I have a 5200 Ford that I ran for years with the stock vertical muffler which ended at ear level because I prefer to stand most of the time. I subequently found it rather difficult to clearly hear a conversation whenever there was any degree of back-ground noise. For the past few years , I have been running with an exhaust extension and wearing hearing protection as well . I guess , compared to others, that I've lost only a little of my hearing. However , I have a 17 yr. old daughter that I believe must be part duck because when I try to talk to her while she's listening to rap music , all I get in return is --what - what -what? Sounds like a duck to me! Must just be my hearing eh ?
