I have 18.4" X 26" tires that took about 75 gallons to fill them. I made a decision to use recycled ethylene glycol antifreeze instead of calcium chloride/water for three reasons. First, it was free. I have a friend who works for a trucking company and their maintenance routinely drains the truck engines and puts in new. I got it in 55 gallon drums.

Secondly, some ballast is better than none for a loader tractor. With the water/antifreeze mix at around 8 pounds per gallon I was able to easily add around 1200 pounds of non-suspended weight. Calcium chloride/water would have added around 1600-1800 pounds.

Thirdly, the rim/tire assemblies are tubeless and I didn't want to expose the steel rims to the calcium chloride.

Perhaps a fourth point is that the center of gravity is lowered for the tractor. With more than half of the water's weight below the axle's center, the C of G is lowered.

Besides, I have a weakness for free stuff.
