With the low compression ratio of old tractors regular may produce more power & fuel efficiency than premium. The BTU"S of energy is nearly identical, premium just means it ignites at a higher temperature.
It the tractor manifold has a heat option use it. Install a 195F thermostat as well. A gasoline engine needs to be hot like like anyother to run efficiently, produce less emissions & reduce cylinder bore wear.
