Apparently, yes. I saw a puller's M-H 33 with the 382 gas engine under the hood. The bellhousing was awkward in size, he had to add an extra set of joints to the steering shaft. The radiator had retro work, as it was taller. From that, I would not use a 33, unless a puller, concerned about weight. A more compatible union, would be a 44 Special, with the 382 engine. The u-frame is 3/8" thicker than a 44, plus the unique hydraulic manifold, improved operator's station, and five speed would make for an interesting project, when not restoring classic Massey-Harris's to authentic, original retail.I've pondered doing it, even have the Special tranny case with 'Hitch-All', just don't get back to it. A strong 382 in a rough 55, would help to motivate, but I don't have the healthy 382 to button it all together. Ed, you're welcome to carry out the mission, as you raised the question. My advice is free.
