Fordson tractors were used as skid units for many experimental versions with both full and half track. There was a version designed for the army made by Newton Tractors intended for mass production by Buick and Studebaker but probably never went beyond the prototype stage. Trackson was the most used full track version in N.America. Ford,s themselves built a half track version at their factory in leamington,England.County and Roadless came much later with both of them building full track versions,Roadless also built a number of half track versions for military use with winches on.It is probable that other companies would have built tracked machines on Ford skid units in the early days because accountants did not run companies and small numbers could have been built more easily.Just my thoughts Roger
