You mentioned a 800 series ford. As a kid my dad bought a new 861 diesel, I think it was about 1958, It had three point, live pto, and one hyd. remote. It had a five speed trans and run very economicially. Never had any problem with it that I can ever remember. A little more HP. than what you have now and a little more weight that will move a bigger load. Think that a good one could be bought for three to four thousand, maybe less. It would be an ideal tractor for your application. I'm sure there are many that would suit your needs but you happened to mention the 800 series, thought I would share my experience with one.
