Parts and implement availability might be an issue for the Allis in some areas of the country. Does it have a catI 3-pt hitch or the Allis traction booster hitch? An 871 Ford has the selectospeed transmission, these were either loved or hated. It might be a problem to find someone who can keep the bands properly adjusted in the transmission. Is there a major price advantage in your purchasing one or the other? Have you driven both? Are they gas or diesel? Depending on hitch, fuel and condition these would not likely be the first choice for newbies.
