Suggestion for anyone changing from a generator to an alternator. Look in aftermarket stock car racing parts catalogs or marine catalogs for ONE wire alternators. Easiest thing to do. Just attach a wire to the battery and go! We have been using this method for years on stock cars and I have converted all 3 of my tractors to one wire alternators.The cost difference is negligible.
