Randy - Sounds like carb icing alright. Gas line antifreeze may help, but my experience is it won't help much. Stuff that does help: Put a side shield on the carb side of the engine. Use a winter front over the radiator. Make sure the thermostat is working. Under severe conditions use some flex hose on the air cleaner inlet to pick up hot air from around the exhaust manifold. Also after a cold start, run the motor at fast idle for several minutes, then shut down for 5 minutes or so to let some heat "soak" to the carbureter. Then re-start and go to work.
