I have a friend who has been working on an old ford car for over 30 years and it still hasn't moved under its own power. Most every time I talk to him it is part of the conversation and he obviously loves it. I would say that if you truely like something that you would want it to last a long time. I get lot of pleasure and satisfaction out of bringing old things back to life even if there is no particular need for them.
