Here is a link for the unofficial home page for the Cleveland tractor company which states it was formed in 1916 as the Cleveland Motor Plow Company, http://www.uta.fi/~latevu/encletrac.htm. It has a serial# list covering from 1916 to 1944. It also includes pictures of several models. It is a nice little page and merits a look.
