GG: on dozer and crawler board got a reply about using belts that can be taken apart; response was almost any heavy equipment/tractor dealer would have them, braided appearance with rivet looking buttons to hook proper length together. I had seen such advertised for power shop tools but did not know they were available for other equipment.
Hooboy!!would not look forward to the procedure involving removing pump and coupling. Lord have mercy on us neophytes! Thanks for the reply. PC
