I recently bought a farmall M. It has been sittig approx. 2-3 months without being run. The flapper on the muffler was left open. The cap on the breather is missing. The problem is it has gotten water in the oil. The tractor cranks and runs really good. I drained the oil and put in fresh oil but it is still milky looking but not foamy. It does not seem to be loosing water from the radiator as this would indicate a bad head gasket, a crack somewhere or a head not torqued properly. I checked inside the breather and there was very little to no water in it. Could the water have gotten in the oil pan through the muffler or breather and how many times will I need to change the oil so that it is not milky any more? If the water level in the radiator does not go down, what else could cause it? I have not run the tractor very long to build up any heat to help evaporate the water.
