Massey Ferguson 202 - Seized Engine

I saw the following ad
Massey Ferguson 202. Seized engine. Good PTO and loader. Asking $2500 (Canadian).
I went to see the tractor. The owner said that he
was using it and it quit. He tried to start it and
it turned over a little and then seized solid. He took
the starter off and tried to turn the motor but it is seized.
The tractor has 2840 hours - the seat is off but owner said
he had it - I expect it is not very good. Tires he said that he
thought they were original - did not seem to be any bulges or large
cracks -but small ones.
Any ideas on what might have happened to cause the motor to seize ?
Does 2840 hours indicate that the rest of track is worn out ?
What price might be reasonable for this tractor ?
Might is be worth trying to find a used motor ?
Any ideas and comments appreciated.
