One of the first places I would go would be to your local CaseIH dealer. You can still buy parts for the tractor. Get to know the parts counter man because you will become intimate friends. You can get owners manuals, parts manuals(almost a necessity) and shop manuals. I get the I&T shop manuals for all my tractors. Find your nearest tractor graveyard that has IH tractors. There are many around. The CaseIH dealer will know some because they use them as well. The "vacuum" lift is probably an exhaust lift, utilizing exhaust gas for lifting, just like what was on my dad's BN. Good luck, have fun, you will find a whole new bunch of friends. There are some restoration books available, some from the Agricultural Engineering Society in Michigan as well as other sources, such as the present website.
