Don't even use 20 wt in place of one which calls for 10wt. One winter I overhauled a 1486 TA for a farmer. He installed the oil, but nothing would prime the good pumps. I tore into the MCV again to double check my work, and then discovered the cold hyd oil which was definitely not within specs. Hytran is 10wt. oil. I did get the machine primed, but my only mistake was not charging extra for my labor. The owner had the idea the heavier oil would save his machine when he put it to hard work, but his only need was to do better maintenance and oil changing as needed.
