I bought a '64 Rambler American 4 door new. Had the inline 6 but it was the old design with only 3 mains......new 7 main engine came out the following year. As you would guess, I think it was 100k mile area, the engine started knocking. Oil filter was a cartridge type, container was inverted and atop the engine. Couldn't change the oil without making a big mess. Made a 700 mile trip one year to visit kin with 4 kids......one hand was on the wheel and the other was reaching over the seat to swat kids to keep them from fighting......only took one of those to realize traveling with the family in that small of a car was a bummer.
