I never had a problem working on them, they used other manufactures parts but always had a basic AMC engine. The Pacer what a nightmare part of the engine set under the cowl. All came with a plastic valve cover that leaked from day one. They came out with a updated cover it lasted long enoufh to get it out of warranty.
The hardest engine swap to make is swap a AMC engine into another model AMC are take a 6 out of a AMC and install a AMC V8. There are no parts nor does anyone make what's needed.
The AMC of Foreign cars is Nissan you never know what you are gonna get and its cheaped down as cheap as it can be made. Like a small GM car just garbage a Sonic would fit this bill.
