Rideere LA117 started over heating last mow of the season, when I went to use it this year it wouldn't start. All the spaces in between the cooling fins on the jug were full of sand and who knows what else! Found a BIG colony of red ants in it. They had chewed all the insulation off the coil wire going to the spark plug. After I cleaned it up, I showed a couple friends who stated without doubt that mice had caused the damage. NOPE big NOPE! ANTS!
I took a piece of rubber gas line and split that and use silicone to attach it. Worked good for all of this season.
Just thought I'd share, so you fine folks know that it's not just other mammals trying to make or lives more miserable. The insects are in on it too!
