I've had a 1030 since 1972. I overhauled it once in 77. Had a cracked sleeve at the top flange as Case's forms for the block were getting old and the top flange wasn't true. Borrowed the tool to true it up and shim the sleeves...been good ever since. Put in one clutch in all those years and the last years have been as a loader tractor. I always respect the engines and treat them good...no cowboy to beat them to death.
