I don't think I said one can't go on the interstate. I said how they are posted in Maine and that I would want a permit in hand to do that. As I said check with the authorities in the travel area, which you did, and they gave/sold you a permit. Some jurisdictions might give a permit, some might not. Designated routes may or may not be assigned depending on the equipment. That's why one should check with the authorities (my experience is state DOTs generally handle oversize permits) for the travel area. Moves across state lines can be a pain and can take several days to get permits from the required states (and municipalities in some cases). Ag equipment, like a rake, normally does not require a permit on state and local roads/highways.
