I take it as he is replacing a wheel bearing and that is the nut for CV outer stub that holds the bearing and hub and sets the preload to a degree. If so and he has one and a half foot of leverage in my opinion that is good enough. I would recheck it in a week. BTW in my world an ..extension.. fits on the square drive and moves you away from your work. Length of your breaker bar or rachet is what you are describing here or ..cheater.. Not sure why you are concerned about explaining why you are making a post about a mechanical repair that is not a tractor? In my opinion bring it on, posts on these subjects have been pretty bleak lately. Now if you are making a humorous post about the metric system or some other OT item then you might concern yourself with such a thing. Kind of like those daily post of picture and puzzles in my opinion 2 maybe 3 a day is more than plenty. I look at the pictures and never do the puzzles for the most part. I still work a job so my time is limited.
