We had a radio in the barn that I would listen to when alone working on farm machines or my car. I enjoyed Patterns in Music on WJR Radio, Detroit, with Karl Haas. (One year, Hass was director of music at Interlochen Music Camp.) I learned that there was more to music than the teen pop. Since then, I have listened to many forms of music. Music well played is the best. Loud does not mean good. I have never listened to music or any other sound except the machines that I am driving.
