I took care of the transmitter plant and directional antenna at WSBT here in South Bend for 10 years, 1987-97. It got out amazingly well for 5KW on 960. Five towers, DA-2. Night pattern was all straight north, you couldn't get the station five miles south of the xmtr. but it came in like a local 250 miles north of here. We had reception reports from Europe where the signal had gone over the North pole and down into Europe.
