I'm likely a minority here, but I have had great success with the electric pads that you epoxy onto the bottom of the oil pan. Come in different sizes, just google oil pan heating pad. Heat the oil (like your magnetic heater). I believe that heating the oil is more important than heating the coolant. Further, heat rises, so heating the bottom of the engine will spread throughout the block. Finally, you just epoxy this pad to the bottom of the engine. No opening up of the cooling system required. Just my opinion.
