When buying combines buy bigger than you think you need. I have never heard anybody say their combine was to big. Sort of like tractors never heard anybody say theirs was to big either. I would buy the biggest combine I could afford if it was me. Just can't get done fast enough and we are behind by weeks due to weather right now. With only 50 acres cut and over 300 to go yet. Rained yesterday and will be clear today then rain the next the a few clear days again. Would like to get the corn done too. Don't know about the crank problem though around here the 9500 is the smaller machine I see. Don't recall seeing a 9400 around here. 6600 was about as small as we see if you see anything older than the 100 series.
