There are several tussock forming grasses they are not reasonable for a field. The grass tussocks are great for retaining runoff and work well in semi wet areas in parks and reclaimed land. I would probably kill it with herbicide plow, or deep disc it and drag it flat. The clumps will be painful to eliminate due to the root structure. Jim
