If the saw or other tool is less than 10 years old or you've replaced the fuel lines and whatnot in that time the materials have changed and the ethanol isn't an issue.
Ethanol free gas is readily available around here however I don't bother with it and have not had any issues with my gas engines. I also routinely have a gal can of 2 cylce fuel mixed up for months at a time with no issues.
