Good morning Sprint, I support anyone's free choice to wire or polarize however they please, its THEIR tractor THEIR choice. That being said, FWIW, I always polarized (if and when it should be done or needed or there's any doubt) BEFORE start up to avoid any possible damage to the Voltage Regulator.....This is ESPECIALLY true if the generator is new or just came from a rebuild shop as it may have been polarized at NEG ground and ESPECIALY if your tractor is POS ground.
