I pressed the old U-joint yokes onto new ''profile'' PTO tubing to replace the tubes that had be twisted by a customer who over-tightened the slip clutches on a John Deere batwing rotary cutter using a hollow hydraulic ''porta power'' cylinder and a length of 3/4'' ''all thread''.
This a a Euro ''Waltersheid'' star-shaped driveline.
It went quite well, to my surprise.
You can see the twist in the cutoff ends that were pressed out of the joint yokes.
First, I had to machine an area at the end of the tube to accept the round ''ring'' that supports the safety shield.
(The blue extension cord was NOT present during the actual operation of the lathe !)
It is tractor-related because the ''4430'' that pulls it is also in the shop for the repair of numerous hydraulic leaks.
